The Internationalization of Distance Education in Latin America

Abstract
The article analyzes how the region is embedded in a process of internationalization, but she is very small dimensions, which negatively affects the quality improvement. Cross-border education is one of the four modes through which to develop international education. The article analyzes the manifestations of this dimension of internationalization and confirms the existence of a broader set of goods and associated services that are undergoing complex and diverse processes of internationalization. From there hypothesizes a new dimension in international educational exchange referred to support services. This is being driven by both the digitization of teaching and by the increasing terciarization of university management in an increasingly competitive global context, which in turn shows a wider articulation between educational virtualization and internationalization processes teaching and learning
